outdoor kitchen plumbing

Hello all.
We have had our 2014 Aerolite 315BHSS for four months now and have had very few issues. While on vacation with it for the last 3 weeks I had the unpleasant experience of finding out that the outdoor kitchen sink drains into the black tank.
We had been using the sink to wash out/off the sand and dirt that comes with camping, so when the water started to drain slowly I proceeded to take the P trap off. to my surprise I was greeted with black water. Now I know when my black tank is full I guess.

OMG! Or as the Church Lady used to say, "Well now, isn't that special?!" This is really bad, I don't think it should be that way. Probably a manufacturing shortcut. I would get that fixed.

Ours is also plumed that way. I kind of like it that way, at the end of the weekend I can add water to the black tank without standing at the toilet.

Love the trailer, hate the dealer and manufacturer.

I will have to check with the dealer to see if this is the way it should be. Now I know to pull the dump valve first.

Doesn't really matter where the waste water goes... at home it all goes down the same pipe.

Yes, but at home it all goes down hill about 10 feet and I have never opened a P-trap to find black water.

I only have 3' of drop at home

One solution that I discovered in a search for a low profile P-trap is the Hepvo valve, it is a one way valve for drains. Not cheap, but I needed one for my airstream shower due to extremely close clearances.

If they were only three feet deep around here your sewer would freeze up about mid November.

My frost line is about 3" I have one water valve that will freeze if we stay below 20°F for more than a few days. One benefit of living in the Deep South... the other being we can just about camp year round.

Only frost line I have is in my frig. Of course it takes awhile to get it that cold when the inside of my rig is 120 from sitting in the desert sun.

Been to AZ... didn't like the "dry" heat.
