how high can I go?
I am not an expert on how elevation affects the different systems in a typical travel trailer. Fridge, batteries, propane stove/heating, etc.
My question: Most campsites I am visiting this year are 8,000 ft +, but several campsites we are booking are at or slightly above 10,000 ft. Any things I should know or do different?

If you have a sleep number bed, you must deflate it before going up.
Also things in squeeze bottles like mustard and ketchup might surprise you the first time you use them.
Adjust your baking times as stated on box.

The generator has a 'high altitude' adjustment if you have an Onan on board.

All good reminder. Thank you! We live at around 5,000 ft, so we are aleady use to adjusting baking times/methods.
Perhaps I will keep condiment bottles open in the fridge for the journey.

Hmmm.... Being a travel trailer, I just have an external Honda 2200. Don't recall if there was an elevation adjustment on it. I will have to look, but doubt it.

It's going to be a Honda 1600 @ 8,000 ft.

I call my toy hauler a 'camper' just for the heck of it. Your is a TT but we don't know what kind it is. Perhaps a signature line with the specifics would help.

If it fuel injected it will, most likely, adjust to the altitude automatically. If it is carbureted you may need to change the jet. Only mistake I made on my Champion was not getting the fuel injected model.

Hmm.. Have no idea about fuel-injected. Athe ever-famous Honda 2200 generators fuel injected? If not, how would one "change the jet"?

So sorry. I thought it showed in my profile or something. Let me try to figure that out and duplicate it like yours and others. For now, our little camper is a 2018 Dutchmen Kodiak Ultralite 255BHSL. I pull it with an old 2007 Ford F-150. Thanks!

Honda, or the internet, should have all of the info. Try calling customer service. Champion sent me the jet free and gave me all of the advice I needed to change it. The job was not that difficult .

They have a carburetor. All the main jets i've changed (motorcycles) are slotted so they can be removed with a screwdriver, after removing the float bowl.

No mention of engine type. Just says it is a GXR120 engine.
I spoke to a million people about what generator to get. No one said "Be sure to get fuel injected". Haha. But everyone said price aside, get the Honda. So I did. I somehow doubt it is fuel injected.
So not sure what this means for how it performs. I assume it will still produce electricity at 10,400 ft.

My Champion would not power the AC last year at ~6800', it would charge the batteries though. This year, with the new jet, I had no problems at 7300' with the AC and battery charging.

We live at 5000 feet.
We often camp over 11,0000.
The only changes i do is with my water heater requires more air input to burn nicely.
We also need to adjust some cooking operations.

Over 110,000 ft? Wow. That IS high!! Well, even 11,000 ft is high. Is this Colorado?
So, why do you adjust with the heater? What do you adjust with cooking?

Actually boondocked for my very first time. It was at 10,000 ft elevation. Photo from camp site at dusk attached. Generator seemed to run and perform just fine while operating everything except the AC.
Sure wish I could have ran the AC. It was hot!

How many days in camp? Did all go well? I am surprised that it was hot at 10K. Were the nights cooler? We live in the Phoenix area and our goal in the summer is to get out of town as often and for as long as possible while camping above 6K because it is cooler there.
