Heating/Cooling/Thermostat Controls in 284BHSL

Not sure how many trailers have the same heating & cooling controls as I do. It's the smaller square kind, has an on/off/mode button, + and - controls on the right and mode indicators on the left with a digital display in the middle.

Went to use it Friday night, turned on the furnace and the ceiling vent fan kicks on. After much detective work I find that the Fan mode needs to be set to Auto otherwise it will kick on with the furnace. Hunh??? I had the fan set to LO from the last trip so that's why it kicked on with the furnace this time. Didn't seem to make much sense, having cool air come in from the ceiling ducts and warm air from the floor ducts...

The fan only circulates cabin air, it does not cool unless you have the A/C on. Mine won't work that way, either heating or cooling. I doubt any of them could do both at the same time.

That's what I thought it was supposed to do to get more air circulation, but this had cold air blowing out the ceiling ducts. Not cabin-temp air coming out... And I let it run about 5 minutes or so to see if it would warm up it but kept blowing cold air.

Seems to me that your thermostat setting would override and heat or cool depending on where you have it set. That way it could only be heating or cooling but not both.
If you are getting both you have a wiring problem but I still can't figure out how one of them is bypassing the thermostat.
