Bathroom fan replacement

I am planning on replacing the small fan in the bathroom ceiling in my Kodiak with a Fantastic Fan model. Is there anything else besides the fan that I need to purchase to make this project go smoothly?

I looked into this as well. I found that there is actually quite a bit of work and retrofitting involving the F.F. swap. However there is a different manufacturer that offers a simple plug and play option. I found it at a State Trailer Supply. I'll see if I can find the name and pass it along. I will be doing this same mod along with the max fan cover.

That would be great! Looking forward to the info. There is nothing worse that an apparent easy job that turns into a fiasco, especially when it involves plumbing.

I have done both.

I swapped out the cheesy factory fan in the bathroom with a Vortex II fan. Literally took five minutes and gives me three forward and two reverse speeds.

In the bedroom, I took out the vent and put in a Maxaiir 7500 fan. This required removing the existing vent (breaking the seal on the room, etc.) and putting in the new fan. The biggest issue with this was removing the existing lap sealant.

Both are viable options (look at my gallery) if you are handy.

It's a pretty straight forward job. I did the same, replaced the cheap noise maker fan with the top model Fantastic-Vent fan. Variable speed, rain sensor to close, and remote control. The hardest part is getting the old sealant off the old fan cover on the roof. A good scraper, and lots of patience, you don't want to tear the roof material.

The only other material you need is flow-able lap sealant to seal the new fan.

Air flow is great with the new fan, and it's much quieter.

Agree I've done it to many a RV I've owned. It's on my to do list for my new 4 day old V3605.
