Red face Aerolite 282dbhs

Hi there! We are almost ready to buy a new Aerolite 282dbhs but need some more reassurance! I've been looking for reviews online but it almost seem like very few people own this model. Can anyone give us an opinion? Good, bad, ugly? Are the electric bunks a good idea for resale?

I have one and have had a couple of issues.

1. Water pump not bolted down (behind draw under stove). This was easily rectified and I added an expansion tank for good measure.
2. Water heater stopped working in gas mode. This too was easily rectified. It was the ignitor.

We love the unit and plan to get many years of enjoyment out of it. As far as the electric bunks, you do give up about 5 or 6 inches of bed space compared to other models with bunks but we lift them up and put all the bikes under them during travel. You can also lift them up, and put some bean bags (or something else) under them during the day and have a separate sitting area/tv/video game area for the kids.

I have a post in the mods section but the gallery is still having issues and half my pics don't show up. Check out www.myaeroliterv.shutterfly.com

Aerolite 282dbhs

Thanks so much for the insights prm99v6! Our kids were excited about the extra play space so that will be a definite plus. We will keep an eye on that water pump. Looks like it's an issue in some units.

We finally got our new Aerolite 282dbhs, " the house truck", like our baby calls it. Can't. Wait to take her out!

We just brought home our new 2013 282DBHS with the Mega couch today. Our water pump was bolted down.

Hi Plapper2000! Does the mega couch turns into a bed?? I saw that model online and thought it was very nice but I couldn't find any pictures or information about it turning into a bed.

My dealer had one and told me it did not. That's why he ordered mine. It does offer a lot of dining space. We wanted the extra sleeping space.

Glad to hear that the water pump was bolted down.

We have the mega couch option in our 282DBHS and it has a huge blowup mattress under the mega couch cushions. It isn't as easy as a pullout bed but it's nice to have both the large dining area and a bed.

The megacouch doesn't make into a bed like the typical dinette. I didn't know the air mattress was for the couch (I'm learning too). I'm going to get 18" legs for my tables ($12 each X 4). This will put the table tops at the same height as the rest of the couch. With the air mattress or just foam pads, this will make a massive bed (10 feet plus long).

Here is a picture of the air mattress that was included with my 282DBHS. You need to remove the table and legs. We store them under the mega sofa cushions when using the mattress.

Nice. I wish my dealer told me that. Is there still storage under the other cushions?
