250kbhs

Hi

I am currently looking for reviews on the Aerolite 250KBHS. I had a chance to finally look at one last week. Been eyeing this layout since it was posted last year. Tried to email Areolite about it but got no response after 3 attempts - makes me wonder about customer support???

Anyway -- trailer looked great - fit and finish as good as any and better then others. The biggest disappointment was in the weight, over 5900lbs. I was hoping to see it at around 5500lb when comparing the sized units below and above. The only other negative we felt was the bunk access area - tight, but not so much that but rather no ladder to access upper bunks

Positives are the bunks have windows -- we seen a lot for bunkhouse designs with no windows for ventilation. We loved the wide dinning table seating vs the bench on either side style but that is more a personal preference I think.
The outdoor kitchen is the thing I like the most. We cook outside, good or bad weather, so this makes sense to me. And having another large fridge their is nice as well, I would have been happen with a mini fridge for just small things like milk, cream for coffee and tea times and jams for morning breakfast. I would still have to arrange something to get our BBQ under the covered section!

One thing I am now sure is a positive or negative is the black corrugated plastic sheeting used to seal the under belly. I am sure it will keep the ants out but what about mice??

Over all we really like this setup for our needs but am hoping to get other opinions of others that now own or viewed this new trailer.

Cheers
Patrick

I picked up an Aerolite about a month ago. Couple minor issues but so far nothing major. Actually spent the first night in it yesterday (camp driveway) but I know everything works. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks -- we were looking at versions of that layout as well - that is one I looked at for weight thinking the 250KBHS would be at 300 to 500 pounds less.

Regards
Patrick
