So where are you headed this summer?

Wife & I are getting out of this heat (122 on monday) and headed east. Will be gone for three weeks.
Going to Durango Co for couple of days. Going to ride the train to Silverton, been 15+ years. Then going over to Royal Gorge for few days. Then heading to in laws place for the week of fourth of July in South Dakota north east corner. Over to the Black Hills for a few days. Finish in Vegas for three days & home.

Well, I spent the bulk of the month of April in Arkansas, riding the Ozarks...

Mid-May and part of June was spent in Montrose, CO... where I rode the Million Dollar Highway and San Jose Skyway loop (Ouray, Silverton, Durango, Cortez, Telluride)... Pikes Peak, Black Canyon, and Grand Mesa.

I'm now a little further north, in Silt, CO... rode up Mount Evans yesterday, gonna do Independence Pass, and head back over Grand Mesa at some point before I leave.

Next destination is Moab, UT for the first week of July, exploring Canyonlands & Arches Nat'l Parks...

From there it's north up into Idaho & Wyoming to explore Yellowstone for a few weeks... then up into Montana for a bit before heading east into the Dakotas.

That ought take me into late September & October. After that, I"m not sure.

We just came out of Vegas first two weeks of June. Was quite hot there too! in the area of 110-112. Back in Oklahoma now, loading up for Radcliff, Kentucky. That's the near future of our RV travels for the summer. Enjoy your journey!

Heat index of 101° here in NC today...

We are going to a Pet RV park(well behaved owners allowed! ) in the foothills for a week the end of July. Then possibly in late September to western MA for a couple of weeks.

Aug 4 leave Mesa, AZ for three days of sailing in San Diego. Then up the PCH to Santa Barbara, Hearst Castle, Big Sur and San Francisco. Over to Reno and then back home through Las Vegas where we will be able to get White Castle. Total about three weeks.

I haven't been to my hometown of Chicago in over 10 yrs. My sister lives in the suburbs, and the Cook County Forest Preserve have just installed campsites in the Forest Preserve, about 2 miles from their house! Sadly, they are water/elec only, so we're limited to about 4 days. But that's about all of my family that my wife can take! We'll be there for our parish reunion and 49yrs from my HS graduation! We're leaving in about a month. As is our custom, we make reservations for sites on the way up (TN and IN) but leave ourselves open on the way back.

Rusty,

I feel your pain! It's going to be a bumpy ride for the next couple months. It would be a great time to buy, but silly me I blew my allowance on camper stuff.

Think we might just be going to the end of the driveway this year.

Just spent a week at Breckinridge Co. in Tiger Run RV, very nice campground. Rode the Harley around the area, went to Aspen one day via Independence Pass, Loveland Pass, rode the bike through the Eisenhower Tunnel. I sure like how the new F-350 handles the camper in the mountains especially the exhaust brake.
