Re: Kokanee Glacier Park

JC ...talked to a buddy on the weekend that went to Waterton. He said its just great...he also went over and up the Salmo/Creston ..he has a newer 2500 hd GM truck gas big v8...he made it ok but he wouldn't do it again...just too hard on the truck.
Food for thought

Re: Kokanee Glacier Park

Yeah, I have a 6.7L diesel - the new Ford designed engine. 800 ft-lbs - shouldn't be an issue. On my trip to Idaho I went up some large hills with no issues. Glad I have the diesel though! I remember once towing the race car with my V8 Pathfinder up the Cocquahalla out of Hope and was at 5000 RPM for almost a half hour - so I know what your buddy means about it being hard on the truck!

Re: Kokanee Glacier Park

Here are some pics of the Kokanee Park beach and Kootenay Lake. This is near Nelson BC about 6 or 7 hrs north/east of Vancouver and about 6 or 7 hours hours south west from Calgary.
( depending on how our Alberta neighbours drive )
Weather was gorgeous for May.

Wow!!! That is gorgeous - we are going to love it there! Sucks we can only spend three nights there this year.

Re: Kokanee Glacier Park

So we leave saturday for this big trip. Two days in Revelstoke, 6 in Osoyoos, 2 at Kokanee Creek and 3 in Waterton. Should be fun! If anyone is going to be in these areas, let me know and we'll meet up for a brewsky. JC

Re: Kokanee Glacier Park

thejean...welcome to beautiful BC...bring lots of that good old Alberta money and spend it freely while your here... ( we need it)
The Trans Canada highway between Golden and Revelestoke is always busy and really treacherous...and no it's not 4 lanes so drive with care.
The weather is going to be "BC Hot" during your stay.

Take care

Coops

PS...there are no nude beaches in Osoyoos...I checked.

Re: Kokanee Glacier Park

Haha, well, with the kids (and inlaws) that might not be such a bad thing. LOL
