Campgrounds between Kalamazoo and Dearborne MI?

We are planning out our yearly 2 week trip. First stop Kentucky Horse Park for 3 days, then to Dayton OH. Both have places picked out, but having trouble finding one up near where we are planning for the third leg before the trip home.

MI will be the Henry Ford Museum and Rouge plant tour, which will consume at least 3 days, and want to hit the Airzoo as well. SO a place mid center is ideal.

There's a reasonable campground in Lansing, MI - Cottonwood Campground. Used to be a KOA - has full hookups and a pool. It's about an hour east of Kalamazoo and 1 1/2 hours west of Dearborn. I'm sure there are others closer to Dearborn.

Pricey! Charge extra for kids and if you use the AC. A little too far north for this trip though, will add it to my campground list for future visits though. Trying to stay under an 8 hour trip time between sites.

Thanks.

There are several state park campgrounds around the Chelsea and Jackson, Mi area. There is also a private campground just north of Jackson on Pleasant Lake. They are all just off I-94, which would take you to both the Henry Ford in Dearborn and the Air Zoo. Near Chelsea, it would be Bruin lake State Park, near Jackson it would be Waterloo State Recreation Area, they have two campgrounds.
