Thumbs up NEW/USED 2010 Kodiak

Hi, My wife and I have been tent campers for years and have just got a 2010 24RBSL Kodiak. We bought a new 2016 Chevy 1500 double cab rated to tow 9400 lb. We stayed in it for 4 days at a RV resort were we a storing it. I did all the maintenance on the roof. First I cleaned the roof and then I put EtrnaBond tape on the front and back seams and around all roof vents and TV antenna. I had to replace the sewer and gray water vent caps as they were sun damaged and broke apart when touched. I only used Dicor self leveling lap sealer around the raido antenna sewer, gray water vents and at edge of new tape. The last owner did no roof maintenance. A week later we spent 2 days at a State Park. We had a blast! No more getting out of the tent to pee in the bushes in the middle of the night! WE now have our own BATHROOM!!! I will be posting and hope to contribute to the forum. Thank you all!!

Nice, sounds like you have the roof figured out. I despise tents.

Welcome, we have a Kodiak (240BHSL) as well. It sounds like your pretty handy and not afraid to dive in and take care of things yourself. Your on the road to many years of enjoyment. We LOVE our Kodiak.

Welcome.......yea tent trailer was nice compare to sleeping on the ground. Had a used one back in 1985. First mod I did was install a 10 gal. holding tank and a toilet. Take a hard sided RV any day over a tent trailer now. Sounds like you have a RV you can use for years.

Welcome to the forum. I have the exact same trailer except it is a Dutchmen 24FBSL. I think they are identical. Love it and having fun. Wait until you start the mods. I have done at least as much modding as camping.

Welcome aboard! Love all your "accessories" in your picture (fishing gear)! Glad you know your priorities!
