New to the forum

Wife and I just purchased a 2013 Aspen Trail 2460 RLS.
Getting excited to get camping.
Trying to figure out the hitch situation.
I pulled it from Virginia Beach to Morehead City 180 miles with just the regular hitch with no problems. 2007 F150 V8 5.4 Triton 4 door.
Considering the Anderson hitch but not much information available.

Welcome from a fellow Carolinian and small trailer owner!

What do you meant by "regular hitch"?

Thanks

By regular hitch, I just used the receiver with a 2 5/16 ball.

I ordered an Equalizer hitch last night.

At minimum I use sway control, especially on something as light and high sided as a travel trailer.

We typically tow with a 2003 F-150 4.6L Super Cab with factory tow package. I am currently using an Eazy-Lift with 550# bars and sway control. With my 1996 F350 Crew Cab, PSD I only use the sway control.

I have an Equalizer Hitch for my 31' Airstream that we also tow with the F150. I have towed the AS on the bumper of my F350.

I am actually beginning to like my Eazylift better than the Equalizer. I can use it for both trailers just by swapping out the lift bars. With the Equalizer I have to have a different hitch for each trailer.

I like the Equalizer and the way it performs with the Airstream, I have had zero problems with it once it was set up correctly, and that WASN'T done by the dealer. Ditto the EazyLift.

Welcome and congrats on your new Camper!
I also have a equalizer and have no complaints!
Lots if good info on this forum.

I sure miss eastern North Carolina! Used to hang out in Morehead City back when I was at Cherry Point.
Happy Trails!

I live right next to Fort Bragg and in the landing pattern for Pope AAF (formerly AFB)

I travel for a living, but NC is what I call home.
