New member on here, and new to fifth wheel world. Picking up our Triton 3451 next Tuesday. Any advice on things to double check on walk thru would be helpful. I know what to look for in home construction, but want to double check on RV.

Thank you

Welcome to the Forums, you will find a lot of useful help here, I just purchased a new Voltage V3305 two weeks ago, . What I did was removed the access panels in the basement store to all the water pump, water heater, furnace and such, I then ran all systems as I would out camping and inspected everything. I found a water leak on the back of my water heater which I fixed with a simple twist, If I had not removed the access panels I would have ended up with a lot of water damage that would not have been noticed for a long time. That is where I would start.

Check all your sink drain connections as well, mine were loose...

Congratulations. There are several pre-delivery inspection lists (PDI) posted on the forum. Very extensive and a big help.

Another thought...on the extras that come with your new RV.

Take the brochure or sales sheet, or whatever, that lists all the things that come with your RV and insist on having the PDI rep show you that they work. TVs, MIcrowave, Radio, Sound bar...all that kinda stuff.

Just thoughts...

Watch the brochures... they have a disclaimer on them about changes being made at any time without notice. I would go off the build sheet. If it is on the build sheet it damn well had better be on the unit!

Use your phone to take a video of your initial "how to" instructions when you pick up the unit. If you try and write it all down you'll get lost and won't remember half of what they tell you.

Thank you all for the info. They scheduled us for a 1.5 hour walk through to make sure we are good on everything.

Just an FYI, unless you're a RV pro, 1.5 hours will be tough to go thru everything. Take your time and don't let them rush you. Believe me, until they have your check, they won't throw you out if you go over your 1.5 hours! Good luck.

Mine too.

The guy doing show and tell was red faced when I started checking the air pressures and asked him to get an air hose.

This is probably one of the biggest causes of blowouts in new campers. The guys hauling these things only have one thing in mind, get it delivered and get back for the next trailer.

I've met a few of these guys and they don't stop for anything but food and fuel, they don't worry about air pressures or the 65MPH max speed on ST tires.

Walk through and inspection went great. Our local dealer spends a great deal of time prepping them before you inspect them. Everything in adjustment, tires aired up to 80 psi, everything functioning and working properly. They had genset fired up and A/C's running, as well as the fridge and freezer running to show that they all functioned properly. Very good experience on first purchase. If you are near Oklahoma and looking for a new unit, I highly recommend RV General Store in Newcastle.

First check when I got it home was if RZR 900xp 4-seater would fit, and it uses every bit of the 12'7" of rear cargo space!

Cant wait to get it loaded up and out using it a couple of weekends from now. I had to drag my two little ones out of it (5 and 2 years) and explain that they could not sleep in it in the driveway tonight!

Thank you all for all the good advice and pointers. Look forward to helping out as I can as well.

BWWilliams, Looks Great, and its nice to hear a Dealer, that is doing a good job, I am lucky too that I found one near me, I have been RVing since 2000 and I also have a Lance Truck Camper that I use in the winter. You will enjoy camping with the little ones, I am with the Grand kids now...
