New Member From Western Mass.

Just signed up and thought I would introduce myself. My wife and I just bought our 3rd camper. Been upgrading as our kids have gotten bigger, from a pop-up, to a hybrid, and now to this 2010 Dutchmen Sport 27B. We got a great deal back in the fall, as the sellers just wanted it gone. In almost new condition. It didn't come with an owners manual or battery box, so I thought I'd find a forum to ask questions when they arise.

Looking forward to participating.

Welcome!

I actually know where Savoy is

My daughter has been running the Americorps volunteers up there in Hawley, MA for the past 5 years. She just took a job in Chesapeake, VA. Culture Shock!

That is pretty neat Aaron. Small world. The Americorps group out of Hawley spent a lot of time at Savoy Elementary working with the kids. My daughter just graduated from the 5th grade last year, and my son is there now as a 3rd grader. There's a real good chance my kids met and know your daughter!

Her name is Leigh Whaley aka Chaquita. She did a "hitch" with that same Americorps group, left for a few years then came back as the coordinator around 2013-14. We have camped a couple of times up that way. The last time at Peppermint Park. One year we just boondocked in the parking lot at the Dubuque State Forest where she was based. Gorgeous country. My son is still in Boston, haven't had much luck camping up there.

Leigh took a position as the Outdoor Adventure Manager with Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast (Tidewater VA) she claims it is her dream job.

My daughter remembers her. The Savoy elementary kids made a field trip to their camp in Hawley for a day of adventures. That's pretty cool. Peppermint Park is a cozy little place. Been there once...it's only 15 minutes up the road.

I was stationed at Langley AFB in VA in the late's 80's. Seems like I recall the Tidewater region being fairly close? It rings a bell for some reason.

Yup Langley is just up the road near Williamsburg.
