Hello all. My husband and I are from North Florida and will soon be the proud owners of a 2013 Denali 286 REX. We're trading a 2002 Cardinal 32CMK this coming Friday. The new construction is lighting our load by 4,000 lbs. Looking forward to years of happy camping and meeting other members along the way. Hurry up Friday...

Have fun and enjoy your new camper. We cannot wait to go again soon. The weather here in N Florida has been perfect but I am sofa bound for a couple more weeks from surgery. happy Camping

Thank you for the warm welcome. We'll spend this weekend camping in the RV park across from the dealership in Bradenton FL. This will give us time to move in and figure out where everything will go since we're in a smaller unit with less storage. It'll also give us time to make sure everything is running the way it's suppose to. Of course, we already have mods in mind but those will come down the road. Until then we're thrilled to have a new unit made with today's technology. In case you haven't notice I'm excited! It's been 25 years since we've had a brand new camper.

It's my pleasure to meet everyone. North Florida is a great place to live. Not just for year round camping but for the rural lifestyle. There are beautiful spings surrounded with hardwoods all around our area. It's not like central and south Florida. I'll post pictures when we pick up our new rig. Any special rules for posting pictures?

We're home with our Denali

We picked up our new Denali Friday. What should have been a couple of hours turned into an all day event. First got tied up in traffic on 75 around Tampa. Then discovered we left the title at home (ugh!). Luckily it was Friday and the tax collector's office was fairly close. After signing all of the paperwork the service department stopped for lunch. Finally was able to do the walk through about 1:15 which took about an hour. Then it was time to move what we brought with us since we planned on camping for the weekend. It was after 4:00 when we finally pulled out.

Spent the weekend in the Withlacoochee State Forest which gave us time to unpack and play with all the new gadgets. Everything worked well, no leaks, no blown fuses, everything was perfect until we were hooking up to leave. First, we're new to power jacks and auto leveling which took a while for us to figure it out. Once that was done we were locking down when we smelt plastic burning. Turned out there was a short in the power brake disconnect. Luckily it was only smoke but Van had to disconnect the power brakes so we could drive home. He's an excellent driver and traffic was light so no problems.

All in all, we are extremely happy with our purchase and look forward to spending many weekends playing with our camping friends. I didn't take many pictures this weekend since it was a working trip but I did get a couple. Will try to post them next.
