New from Las Vegas

Hello from Las Vegas. My wife and I just got a 2017 Aerolite 2520RKSL in February. We went for a shake down run and the Clark County Shooting Park here is Vegas (nice place to go, full hook ups, nice view of the city but no other amities). We had a great time but while towing on a long steep grade I found out that I'm gonna have trouble towing with my 2007 Tacoma. Truck has a towing capacity of 6500 and the trailer has a dry weight of 5160 so I know I'm pushing it. Trans temp went over 230 and it doesn't like the wind. I ordered a trans cooler with a fan so hopefully that will fix the temp issue. Then I'll probably end up adding air bags/springs or helper springs to help the stability issue. Guess we wont be doing and long distance trips for a few years till can afford a new truck payment.

Welcome. Having not enough tow vehicle is a common problem. Keep a eye out for a used truck which is easier on your budget. If Toyota is what you like look for a Tundra V-8.
Just make sure you tow out of the desert in early morning to beat the heat.

Agree with Desert Rat. Don't try to prop up the Tacoma.
Oh, the wife and I contributed to your local economy last month.
