Smile New Dutchman Sport Owners

My wife and I just purchased a 2007 Dogde Ram 3500 Diesel PU to tow our just purchased 2004 Dutchman Sport. We are upgrading from a 1987 22 ft Lazy Daze Motor diesel motor home.

We are planning our first trip starting in late November for about 4 weeks. We are all set up and ready to go except for a unexplained drain on the on-house batteries.

With the batteries fully charged something is draining the power in about 30 minutes. We have read several articles and searched the internet and cannot find anything that might be draining the power. We have setup an appointment with the RV dealership to see if they can help resolve the problem.

We have one question on the slide out maybe someone can confirm for us. The salesman said that we could access the rear bathroom with the slide in. Actually the door cannot be opened unless the slide is partially open. Our current thought is if we are stoped at a restsite we could partially open the slide to access the bathroom. However, if we want to sit on the couch or at the table we need to fully extend the slide. Is it ok to use the slide only partially extended?

I would not do that - the slide should be out to use the couch.
