Howdy All! New Member here.

Hello everyone
I will be picking up our 2015 voltage 3895 from the dealer in just under 2 weeks. Book shows her maxed out weight is 20,000. I dont plan to go that high but I would love to get input on what hitch recommendations for a 2015 gmc crew cab 4wd drw.
thanks and look forward to visiting and learning from everyone here.

Welcome. Check out Fifth Wheel | etrailer.com
This will give you a idea of what's out there. I have a Curt 16k which I've used on my 03 Teton & my Voltage.

My 3990 is weighted the same. I put a Reese 26K on my F350 dually (which just came back from the body shop after i backed into my hitch, damaging my tailgate!). I'll err on the side of caution.

Thanks for the advise folks. I had a friend recommend the B&W companion. I like the options it gives but not sure about pushing the limits. I have no intention of exceeding my camper max of 20K but a little nervous about having a hitch only rated for 20k.

I also have the Reese 26K on my 2013 F-350. I am not educated on these hitches but what I really like about the Reese is it breaks down into two pieces, making it pretty easy to handle with no help.

I don't know what hitch fits what. I just got lucky on my application.

Make that I have a Curt 20k. MY fingers & brain weren't together when I posted. Not that it's ever happened before.

I have a Highway Products aluminum bed, so I had them install a Reese 30K that is mounted on a 1/2" thick steel plate bolted to the truck frame.

I like knowing the hitch is rated for more than it will ever see...I hope...

I'm towing my '14 3895 19,000 GVWR with a B&W OEM Companion rated for 20,000 lbs installed in the Ford factory pucks with no problems.

This is my second B&W hitch and I would highly recommend. They make a B&W Companion that mounts to a gooseneck ball, which I was going to get until I found a Ford with the factory pucks.

A hitch is like money on a trip, it never hurts to have a little extra!!! So the higher rated hitches should definitely be considered.

I have a 2013 Chev 3500HD CC DRW Truck with bags, for my 3895, and I have a 26K Husky Hitch, Its nice to have a big hitch…I know you say you will not go over 20K, I said that too, but the last time, we went Dry camping, filling up with Water, Fuel for the toys, adding the toys, all the food, and equipment that friends added, we only went 100 miles from home, but I went to 24K with everything, it may only be once in a while, but its nice to have a bigger hitch and the cost for a bigger hitch is not even to talk about when your pulling with truck over 100K of RV….Good Luck on your choice and good RVing

Thanks for all the advice folks. I located a Reese Elite 25k that has the rails under the bed and the arms attach to 4 pucks. It even gives a goose neck option. It is a little pricey but as Mike and Rich both mentioned it never hurts to have a little extra cushion on capability and the cost of that hitch is nothing compared to that camper.

Jgaroni, Now that you found a hitch, when you pick up the 3895, don't leave until you check everything out, as everyone will tell you, the dealer just wants to get you out, so take your time and YOU check everything. I was lucky, I only found a couple things that needed to be repaired, I had one Jack that was leaking, one rear light, and one kitchen light were working if you didn't turn it off, after you turned it back on, you had to tap them…Rear Toilet seal was dry, so it wouldn't hold any water…everything was repaired, but the Jack, which I'm still waiting for parts. We love ours and have put on about 15K miles since new

Yup check every inch. Even if it's something you can live with. Document it. There to big to just glance at. It is easy to miss problems put your peri feral blinders on and look at it little at a time. Congrats and good luck!

Will do guys. I hope things go well. The guys at Explorer USA in Seguin TX. have me scheduled for an "owners clinic from 830-1200" on my pick up date. They are supposed to show me everything from head to toe and how it works. We will see....
8 days and counting!!!!

And nothing good is cheap! Reese makes top quality products, stands behind them. And you should have no problem if its installed correctly!!
