Hello from Louisiana

Hello folks my name is Roy Farrow. I will be retiring from the oil patch in a few years and plan on buying a toy hauler and tow vehicle as a happy retirement present to me I have been doing a bunch of research, even though i know things can change in a few years, on the different manufacturers and such. I had it narrowed down to Grand Design Momentum, Heartland Cyclone, and of course Dutchmen Voltage. What i think I have figured out is that they all have issues and the customer service departments from all 3 have their issues also. Out of all of the CURRENT floorplans I like the Voltage Epic 3990 or 3970 the best. What I have discovered is a dealer that is under a 2 hour drive from me that sells Voltage has excellent Google reviews. Their service department is headed up by one of the 4 owner brothers and they have 2 service technicians that have 20 plus years with the dealership another 2 with 15 plus years with the dealership and several others with 5 - 9 years with the dealership. They also advertise what I consider to be some fair prices. With this info in mind I do believe I will be purchasing a Voltage in a few years. Good Lord willing and the Creek don't rise. COME ON RETIREMENT

Welcome to the forums! Sounds like you are on the right track! My recommendation is to find a floor plan you like and dealer you can work with, those are the two most important things.

The next is to do a thorough walk through of the unit prior to signing on the dotted line, if things are not close to right don't be afraid to walk away. If the unit has a few glitches (I have yet to see one that doesn't), have them fix them prior to the purchase contract being signed, then go for it.

Aaron

Thanks for the reply. It is a comfort to know that someone who has been there done that feels I am on the right track. I will definitely print out one of those PDI checksheets when the day comes.
