Greetings Everyone - from Regina

We are Leon and Janey Goertzen from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. As I look outside to see the three feet of snow in my front yard I also realize that we are only a few years away from only seeing snow on top of the mountains. We've joined to read your posts on living full time in an Rv, models to purchase and the Rv lifestyle. In return we hope to pass along our knowledge and maybe one day share a campfire with you. Janey and I have come along way from our honeymoon in a home-built truck topper in 1976 to our 24 foot Kodiak 242 RESL that we now own. This is our first forum so we ask that you bear (ha, ha Kodiak) with us as we learn this new technology.

"We were not placed on this earth to see through one another, but rather to see one another through!"

Welcome to the forum Leon & Janey !! glad to have you on board. Sounds like you have quite a lot of snow out there. We have been pretty lucky here in Calgary this year, but i guess it's not over yet..

Welcome Leon and Janey ....Welcome aboard. Glad u joined us

For those on the forum who are unaware ...Regina is home to the training centre called " "Depot" where all RCMP recruits (Royal Canadian Mounted Police recruits )are trained for the entire country.
Just some trivia

Yes we have snow but no mosquitos and that is a good thing. We were in Calgary back in January and I took a long walk from our hotel to the new KMS store wearing only running shoes. I have already read some of your posts and look forward to sharing things with you in the future.

Thank you Cooper for your post. We are also home to the longest bridge over the narrowest body of water (Wascana Creek). It's also a very pretty bridge and definitely a Kodak moment (ie the individual spindals and welcoming pillars).

U must have been in Calgary when they had a Chinook....which is a hot breeze blowing eastward from beautiful British Columbia to Calgary...

Leon & Janey,

Welcome to the forum.

Apparently, we're getting some Canadian lessons through this thread. That's interesting. It sounds like a very nice area, very scenic.

I'd like to talk my wife into traveling that way in a year or two.

Again, welcome.

Welcome.

Three feet of snow sounds really cold. This morning it was 41 in sunny North Florida. No snow but it's still a chilly 54 even with the sunshine. It's long sleeves and shoes kind of day rather than short sleeved with sandals.

I'm going to have to learn how to post pictures on this forum. Just looked out the window again and we have a bunny hunkered down in the snowbank (not ten feet from our front window). He's showing some brown patches so spring can't be far off.

Welcome to the Forum Leon and Janey! Snow is very pretty, but I must say I'm glad you have the 3 feet and not me. Since I now know more about Regina I would like to see pics of the longest bridge over the narrowest body of water (Wascana Creek). Especially since it is a Kodak moment. I would also think your city is very safe with tyhe RCMP there.

Like any city of 215,000 you have to keep your wits about you when out sightseeing. We are very proud of our city and our RCMP recruits. Being a police officer these days is not an easy job and I commend them completely for the fine job they do.
I’m definitely going to have to learn how to post pictures for you to see Regina through my camera lens. For now try these links to the high lights of Regina and Saskatchewan:
http://wiki.worldflicks.org/albert_street_memorial_bridge.html
Creek on the left was dammed to create the lake on the right. The whole bridge is the highlighted area in the middle. These days the water is three feet thick and you could drive a semitrailer truck on it easily. I’ll learn how to post pictures and send you some of my own later this spring.
Here is a link to my province from Tourism Saskatchewan:

Welcome aboard, folks. We are from Quebec but are lucky enough to be able to winter down south (currently in Longview Texas), so we are not even sure how much snow we have back home.

There is quite a bit to learn from fellow RVer's such as those in this forum. Enjoy!
